Creed
A unique visual signature based on accords, character, and seasonality
The assault is immediate and bright—bergamot and neroli create a sunlit, almost Sicilian brightness, whilst lemon and mandarin orange snap with architectural precision. This feels momentarily transparent, an unapologetic citrus declaration that could belong to any number of fresh fragrances.
As the citrus volatiles retreat, the green tea rises with genuine presence, its subtle bitterness anchoring the composition as heliotrope and rose bloom around it with a faintly herbal character. Blackcurrant adds an unexpected fruity depth, transforming the heart into something richer and more restrained than the opening suggested—almost like discovering rose petals floating in strong oolong.
The base reveals its modesty here, with sandalwood providing a faint woody envelope whilst musk remains barely perceptible, offering skin-like softness rather than sillage. What remains is predominantly the memory of tea and green notes, now seasoned with the faintest amber sweetness—less fragrance, more scent-memory.
Creed's Asian Green Tea arrives as a palimpsest of contradictions—simultaneously austere and indulgent, cerebral yet sensual. Julien Rasquinet has crafted something that reads less like a traditional tea fragrance and more like a meditation on tea's ritualistic periphery: the citrus groves that supply its accompaniments, the floral gardens glimpsed through morning mist.
The fragrance's skeleton is undeniably green, with that particular verdancy of steeped leaves and bergapten-rich citrus oils creating an almost hydrating sensation on the skin. But beneath this veneer of restraint lurks something altogether more intriguing—heliotrope and rose emerge to soften the tea's natural astringency, whilst blackcurrant adds a dark, jammy insistence that prevents the composition from becoming merely refreshing.
