Estevia — Arion is a fragrance that refuses the comfort of sweetness, instead leaning into the green, almost austere pleasures of fern-touched citrus and resinous forest air. Joseph DeLapp has constructed something deliberately cool-blooded here: the lychee arrives not as a sugary fruit confection but as a tart, slightly floral stone fruit that immediately angles toward lime's sharp bite and the vegetal whisper of fern. There's a botanical precision to this opening that suggests less a fruit bowl and more a walk through a Scandinavian woodland where berries grow beneath fir trees.

The heart reveals the architect's hand most clearly. Fir balsam—that resinous, almost medicinal evergreen note—becomes the emotional core, with geranium's peppery green florality sharpening the composition further. The ambergris softens this austerity only marginally, introducing a warm, slightly animalic undertone without ever allowing the fragrance to tip toward comfort or romance. This is not rose as the heart's traditional centrepiece; instead, DeLapp uses rose as one voice in a choir of green and spicy elements, subordinate to the woody, resinous narrative.
