Sarah Jessica Parker
A unique visual signature based on accords, character, and seasonality
Plum and peach establish themselves immediately, their stone-fruit sweetness tempered by creamy almond and coconut that feels more like skin powder than actual flavour. Within moments, the fragrance settles into an unexpectedly muted register—this is no loud declaration, but rather an invitation to lean closer.
The florals gradually shoulder their way forward, with lily of the valley's peppery-green character preventing the tuberose and magnolia from becoming too lush. The jasmine adds a whisper of indolic warmth whilst freesia provides a necessary citrus-tinged counterpoint, creating a floral arrangement that feels almost contemplative rather than celebratory. Iris dusts the entire composition with a refined, slightly soapy powder that anchors everything in understated elegance.
Sandalwood and oakmoss emerge as the peach and plum fade, establishing a woody-creamy base that feels almost sculptural in its restraint. The musk grounds everything without projecting, leaving behind something intimate and lingering—less a fragrance you wear and more one you inhabit, like a favourite jumper pulled on during grey afternoons.
Lovely Lights occupies that peculiar middle ground where commercial femininity meets genuine olfactory ambition—a fragrance that doesn't quite commit to either path, yet somehow emerges more interesting for its indecision. Paolo Terenzi has constructed something deliberately soft-focus, a gauzy veil of sweetness that refuses to sharpen into definition.
The opening gambit is deceptively simple: plum and peach provide immediate fruit-forward warmth, whilst almond and coconut conspire to create an almost edible creaminess. But there's a curious restraint here—these notes don't announce themselves with typical fruity shrillness. Instead, they settle into something almost powdered, almost nostalgic, like opening a jewellery box lined with pale silk. The peach particularly reads as dried rather than fresh, lending a tactile quality to what might otherwise be pure confection.
