Tiziana Terenzi
A unique visual signature based on accords, character, and seasonality
The blackcurrant and grapefruit combination arrives with tart, slightly syrupy intensity—less zesty citrus and more preserved fruit compote—whilst pineapple provides a bright, almost tart counterpoint that prevents the composition from cloying immediately. The bergamot darts through like nervous energy, herbaceous and slightly peppery.
The florals bloom with quiet insistence; the lily of the valley develops an ethereal, slightly metallic greenness whilst violet begins its powdery, slightly spiced emergence. The amber shifts underneath, warming everything into a lightly sweet, skin-scent warmth that feels almost intimate, and the jasminum grandiflorum adds a honeyed richness that gives the composition real depth and sensuality without becoming overtly floral.
The hinoki cypress and oakmoss create a delicate woody skeleton—pale, almost skeletal rather than robust—whilst bourbon vanilla provides warmth without heaviness. The musk becomes increasingly apparent, creating a soft, slightly animalic halo that melds with residual amber and violet, resulting in a gentle, powdery sweetness that clings close to skin rather than projecting outward.
Moro di Venezia announces itself as something fundamentally Venetian—not the postcard Venice of tourists, but the Venice of languid afternoons in shadowed courtyards, where humidity hangs thick and fruit vendors call across canal-side markets. The blackcurrant and Sicilian grapefruit collision in the opening creates a tart, almost cassis-like sweetness that feels almost jammy, whilst the pineapple adds a strange tropical brightness that shouldn't work but does, cutting through with juicy precision.
What's remarkable here is how Paolo Terenzi allows the florals to breathe without restraint. The lily of the valley doesn't hide—it emerges with an almost indecent greenness, backed by violet that brings a powdery, slightly spiced dimension. There's a whisper of jasminum grandiflorum creeping beneath, honeyed and velvety, that prevents the composition from ever feeling sheer or merely fresh. The amber arrives like a warm hand placed on cold skin, anchoring everything into something decidedly sweet and slightly animalic.
