Jacques Flori has constructed something that reads as citrus on paper but wears as something far more substantial—the orange notes aren't squeaky clean cologne fare but rather weighty, almost leathery things bolstered by that Spanish labdanum from the very first spray. This is citrus with backbone, with the petitgrain adding a green, slightly bitter edge that prevents the composition from turning sweet or soapy.

The orange blossom and neroli form an intriguing middle act, but they're kept deliberately sheer, never blooming into full indolic whiteness. Instead, they hover like a suggestion of floralcy, a whisper rather than a shout, allowing that resinous labdanum-amber axis to remain the fragrance's true core. The Brazilian rosewood adds a creamy, slightly peppery woodiness that bridges the gap between the citrus brightness and the ambered warmth below. By the time the tonka and musk settle in, you're left with something that feels like sun-warmed skin dusted with orange peel powder and woody resins.
